A home wireless network allows you to connect all your computers without the hassle of running an Ethernet line to each room. There are instances, though, when your wireless signal isnt as strong as it could be. Wireless noise, which is interference from electronic devices or other objects, can interfere with your network and your wireless performance. If possible, keep your router in an area central to the rest of the devices that will be connecting.

Keep your router off the floor and away from the wall. Also, be sure to keep large metal items away from the router. Metal will interfere with and weaken the wireless signal.

Replace any other household items that operate on the same frequency as your router. Cordless phones are often a cause of wireless network issues.

Change the wireless channel on your router to alleviate some issues you may experience from other devices.

Check the manufacturer website to see if your router has any firmware updates available. Updating the firmware could fix certain issues.
