How to Plug a Webcam Microphone Into a Computer
With the development of high-speed Internet and the availability and popularity of video-chatting applications, webcams have become a necessary hardware for most computers. Webcams allow you to easily transmit video and audio of yourself to the person with whom you are chatting. Some computers come with a webcam already integrated. If you purchased a separate webcam to attach to your computer, setting it up is a quick and easy process.

Instructions
1 Most webcams come with two colored plugs, one in green and the other in pink. The green plug controls the audio for your webcam and allows the voice of the person with whom you are chatting to come through the webcam's speakers. The pink plug is the webcam microphone that transmits your voice to the other person.

2 Insert the green plug into the headphone jack on your computer. If you have a desktop, this plug is usually on your CPU, either underneath the disc drive or in the back. The headphone jack is indicated by a small icon of a headset. On a laptop, the headphone jack is located either on the side or in front.

3 Insert the pink plug into the microphone jack on your computer. For both a desktop and laptop, this jack should be located immediately next to the headphone jack. The jack has a small icon of a microphone.

Tips & Warnings
Make sure both plugs are securely inserted into your computer. Loose plugs can lead to audio troubles during your video chat.
