Microphones are used to transmit a person's voice from the microphone to an audio output device, such as a speaker, which amplifies the voice. Generally, an XLR cable would connect the microphone to the speaker or sound board. A wireless microphone can be constructed with the use of an already-constructed microphone and a special XLR adapter.
