New Delhi nightclub installs Outline sound system

The Pangaea nightclub, situated in Delhi’s Ashok Hotel, has been equipped with Outline gear.

The venue is the latest addition to the worldwide club chain owned by Michael Ault, who now has more than 30 nightclubs operating in areas such as New York, Miami, LA, Bermuda, Sao Paulo and Marbella.

With a capacity of around 450, Pangaea and its patrons now rely on a sound system manufactured by the Italian firm.

Ault and his project manager Garry Lawrence picked New Delhi-based White Eagle Entertainment (WEE), Outline’s Indian distributor, to supply and install the audio, lighting and laser equipment.

The WEE team, headed up by managing director Arun Kalra, was required to specify a system with “high energy sound that would encourage everyone to dance.” Arun used Outline’s Open Array software to find the optimum configuration and mounting positions.

The main system consists of six Outline Doppia II 9075P three-way speakers, four DVS 15 wide-range loudspeakers, a pair of DVS 12 loudspeakers and two Eidos 10 two-way units, all of which offer low-loss crossovers, catering for mid-high frequencies.

Bottom-end punch is delivered via six DBS 18-2 subwoofers that extend the low frequency response, while two Eidos 118S subs provide a peak SPL of 135 dB at one metre.

Outline equipment was also chosen for the sound system’s powerhouse. The set-up is driven by nine amplifiers – a mixture of five T-Five, two T-Eleven and two Outline DPA 1004 digitally processed models.
